Between Four Eyes consults and trains international organizations and human services providers to bring best practices in mindful awareness-based education to their communities. Together, local leaders and those they serve can examine culturally assumed identities and reshape chosen narratives through a new lens of understanding and consideration of differences.
Between Four Eyes takes responsibility to guide strategy, oversee program development and monitor program efficacy. The work is based on a step-by-step process, targeted at education, health-care and cultural organizations. We explore local educational and cultural needs, identify existing challenges and, based on this investigation, develop program content. Guided by the conviction that we can disseminate the exceptional knowledge and educational programs of key scientists, authors and educators in the field, we are strategizing the following program activities for 2008 and beyond:
- Seed strategic partnerships to meet project needs for pilot schools and/or organizations.
- Recruit and train Teacher Ambassadors for a Spring ’09 pilot launch in international locations.
- Implement Teacher Ambassador training programs that addresse an inter-disciplinary approach to teacher education.
- Develop a comprehensive teaching manual for the Teacher Ambassadors as they introduce mindful awareness strategies to host communities.
- Develop field workbooks for our international host organizations with a collection of best practices on Applied Mindful Awareness: Methods, tools and techniques integrating Awareness, Self Reflection and Discernment.
- Convene daylong training workshops for professionals, field workers and volunteers in host communities.
- Establish global affiliations and collaborations with like-minded peacebuilding, education, health and cultural organizations.
